Whereas Trump voters don’t appear to be impressed, Trump has managed to fireside up voters in Minnesota.
Minnesota AG Keith Ellison was requested by Rev. Al Sharpton on his Politics Nation MS NOW program how troubled he was by the administration’s investigation of Omar.
Ellison mentioned:
It’s as troubling because it will get, as a result of it is very clear that that is nothing aside from persecution. It’s political persecution based mostly on her criticism of the president, based mostly on her ethnicity as a Somali individual, based mostly on her standing as an immigrant to our nation who has come to this nation and distinguished herself in a mess of the way, together with being our consultant of the fifth Congressional District.
This might not be extra regarding relating to intimidating folks. Look, in case you are a Somali individual or Mexican or a Haitian or any ethnic background, all have been targets of Donald Trump, and individuals are considering that, “If they will do that to her, what can they do to me, who’s not in Congress in any respect?”
Effectively, it has an intimidating, chilling impact on folks, nevertheless it’s having the alternative impact in Minnesota as a result of proper now we… I simply walked right into a room full of parents in Rochester, Minnesota, who cannot wait to get on the market and knock doorways and marketing campaign and get the vote out. So he is simply serving to inspire us round right here. Our sister Ilhan shall be sturdy and stand as much as this. We’ll stand by her.
Trump, after all, by no means noticed this backfire coming.
