A tanker carrying about 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also referred to as petrol, has somersaulted in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the tanker overturned on the Odo-Oba space alongside the Ogbomoso–Oyo Street, touchdown in a close-by ditch.

No casualties had been recorded on the scene, DAILY POST additional gathered.

The Normal Supervisor of the Oyo State Hearth Service, Mr Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident in an announcement issued on Tuesday.

In his response, Akinyinka acknowledged that firefighters instantly moved to the scene upon being contacted.


He stated,

“The swift response of the Oyo State Hearth Companies Company (Ogbomoso Command) averted an explosion after a petroleum tanker accident at Odo-Oba, Ogbomoso.

“Right now, Tuesday, 18th March 2025, at precisely 10:25 hrs, we acquired a misery name. On arrival, we discovered a DAF trailer loaded with 45,000 litres of PMS, which had somersaulted into a close-by ditch, inflicting petrol to gush out immediately. We blanketed the realm with a foam compound to neutralise the flammability of the spilled contents and stop any potential hearth outbreak.”
