The Ebonyi State Police Command has begun investigating the killing of a truck driver alongside the Ishiagu-Okigwe expressway on December 4, 2024.
The truck driver was reportedly shot useless by suspected gunmen in an space affected by a communal battle between the communities of Umuobor, Akaeze, and Ogwor, Ishiagu, all in Ivo Native Authorities Space.
Police spokesperson DSP Joshua Ukandu confirmed the incident and said that detectives are working to determine and arrest the culprits.
“Our males are on prime of the matter to make sure justice is served,” he mentioned in Abakaliki on Sunday.
Ukandu additionally reassured residents of the police command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property.
